I have a dream…

50 years on from the speech

“We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating ‘for whites only’. No, no, no, we are not satisfied, and we will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters, and righteousness like a mighty stream” from http://gu.com/p/3hze8/tw

Seem the good doctor was fond of Amos (a book in the bible),. when God tells his people:

‘I hate, I despise your religious festivals;
    your assemblies are a stench to me.

 Away with the noise of your songs!
    I will not listen to the music of your harps.
But let justice roll on like a river,
    righteousness like a never-failing stream!

And Karl Barth said:

No praise of God is serious, or can be taken seriously, if it is apart from… the commandment: “Thou shalt love thy neigbour as thyself”
